I read some good books for the month of April! Slowly making my way through the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, it's so cute. Greg Heffley is the ultimate middle school boy and one day I hope to read the series again with my son. Friendship, right/wrong choices, humility, all sorts of lessons throughout the series.
Fangirl was AMAZING, have y'all read it? Rainbow Rowell is becoming one of my favorite YA authors. I wish her books were a higher reading level so our students could test on them. I did not want Fangirl to end, had a book boy crush on Levi (love that name).
I finished the Legend series, another great YA series! The Things You Would Have Said was a therapeutic read and inspired me to write my own personal letters to those I've done wrong in life, or those who have done me wrong... and never send them... the book is based on a website where readers wrote their personal stories anonymously to gain closure. I highly recommend writing as therapy (obviously I'm a blogger).
We Were Liars was a quick read and I was surprised by the ending. A little depressing to be honest!
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? Mindy Kaling is hilarious. I started this book when it first came out, but just could NOT get into it. I gave it another try and similar to Amy Poehler's book (where she talked about Parks and Rec) I loved the stories about The Office and their inspirations as writers, but when she (and Amy) talked about the behind the scenes of comedy, their big break, and all they do/go through I got bored... real fast.
What did you read in April?
Have you read any of these books, what did you think?!
