When my friend, Emily, got married a couple years ago she asked me for marriage advice. I told her out of all the things I could tell her the most important was to learn how to MAKE COOKIES.
For whatever reason cookies are a peace offering in our home. Sometimes I make them as an I'm sorry... Sometimes I make them as a Let's Celebrate! And sometimes I make them because I'm in the mood for cookie dough...
Anyway, making cookies is a small way I can show love for my husband, but I'm not always in the mood to whip up a homemade batch. Especially when he has snuck into the freezer and eaten all my frozen pre made balls from a huge batch I make every couple of months!!
*Ahem* So, on the days when he puts in a request for cookies and I absolutely don't feel like it, I whip up a batch of box cake cookies! They aren't exactly like homemade, Last time I made these, I heard a lot of grumbling about them not being my original cookies, but did they get eaten?!
YES! Sooo really that's all that matters!
1 box of cake mix
1/4 cup of water
1/3 cup of oil
What to do with it all:
Mix all ingredients on medium speed with a hand mixer or stir them really, really good. No lumps!
Portion them out into spoofuls on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Cookies will be soft and chewy!
