Sierra from Enjoy to the End and Shannon from Life in The Hallway both nominated me for a Liebster Award. For those of you reading this, yes, yes I have done a lot of these lately, but I feel guilty NOT accepting the award. I love other bloggers and I'm flattered that others think of me, so yes I have to respond!! You can check out my previous award posts here and here.
Here are Sierra's questions for me:
1. How did you decide on the title of your blog?
Well, I'm Southern obviously... Born in Alabama, raised in Georgia. When I started blogging more seriously we were just beginning our infertility journey, so for me HOPE was a huge need in my life. So Southern Hope was created!2. What one word sums up the heart of your blog and why?
I said reading last time, so this time I'll go with talking... Yes, I enjoy a good conversation in person. And even better if it's on a porch in a rocking chair with ice cold Lemonade!
Let's yak it up!
4. What is your favorite aspect of blogging?
Finding other people who can relate to how I feel on certain topics, or those who have a difference of opinion. I enjoy getting to know people and being social, but there's an aspect of blogging that makes me want to get in the bed and throw the covers over my head! It's the part of me that gets shy about what I wrote either in a comment or a post.
Putting ourselves out there as bloggers is a tough job!
Every day life, I've been writing since I was a little girl and I see a story in everything. I hope y'all keep coming back for more.
Hmmmmm depends on who you ask haha. My husband would tell you I'm a great mother, but I'm too hard on myself. My mom would tell you I have serious anxiety, over schedule myself, and am overly sensitive. My dad would tell you I'm totally amazing, hilarious, and the best thing since sliced bread (he's a fan). My best friend would tell you I've been there for her through the worst times in both our lives. My cousin would tell you I need to lighten up. My aunt would tell you I'm cool and an old soul.
Ireland, last time I said Australia, this time I'll go with Ireland. After watching P.S. I Love You I freakin love that place.
8. What are the top three important things in your life?
My husband, my son, and my faith.
9. A long-lost relative leaves you a large sum of money. What do you do with it?
Going to repeat my answer on this one...
Because I'm so crazy about saving, I'd probably put half into savings. Sorry to be boring, but it's the truth. With the rest I could travel, take our family all over the United States, Canada, then head to other countries like Ireland, France, England, Italy. If we had even more left over I'd buy a lot of land and give a home to stray dogs and cats from the local shelter.
11. What is your biggest dream?
Whoa, that is a serious question. My biggest dream would be for my family to be happy, like truly happy. Deeply happy.
Here are Shannon's questions for me:
1. What's your favorite Christmas tradition or part of Christmas?
Having dinner together as a family. Every year we have a prayer holding hands around the food and then share what we are grateful for, some wonderful tear filled moments at our dining room table.
2. What is your dream job?
Being a mother, I never thought I'd write that, but it's the truth. This time in my life is so precious with my son and I hope I get to have more children in the future. There is no greater work.
I reallllly hate reality TV unless I'm at the gym. Then suddenly I'm interested in whatever trash is on. I recently watched hmmm Vanderpump Rules?! Geez, lots of sex and cheating going on, but it got my cardio done quicker!
Read and snack... I'm a nerd. Sometimes I blast music really loud and dance and sing! Also I love to clean when I'm alone, I get so much more done that way.
Wherever my family is.
Gym time, aerobics classes, and walking with my son.
REAL, my husband works at a Christmas tree farm y'all, gotta support local businesses!!
Oh goodness, I have no idea, I can't even remember!! Probably some activity in Utah when I was young and single.
Being a Good Comforter, because I think everybody needs to know how to truly be there for others.
I enjoy your What I've Learned series!
