I'm writing to y'all from the comforts of my bed while Little Monkey takes his nap. I have so many blog posts to catch up on it is ridiculous. I am so behind and feeling really overwhelmed, so here's my efforts at catching y'all up.

My aunt came to visit for Christmas, we loved having her. Little Monkey is so fond of his great aunt! We caught up on movies, ate food, visited with family, and slept a lot. We were grateful to have her in town. We had an unexpected death in our family on Christmas Eve. Death is never easy, but a sudden loss is so heartbreaking. Nobody should attend a funeral days after celebrating Christmas with their family. It broke my heart to see several more obituaries posted around the same time. Our family wasn't the only one hurting and I pray for peace and understanding for all experiencing loss over the holiday season.

After saying our goodbyes, Monday we left for what we thought was going to be two days of biking and one night of fun (ahem) to celebrate our anniversary.

We packed up our bikes and headed west to Callaway Gardens. It's one of our favorite vacation spots with 10 miles of biking trials and tons of fun activities. This time of year is especially fun to drive through Fantasy in Lights. On our way, I kept feeling sick, I get carsick easily so didn't think much of it, but once we arrived to our hotel it was like I was hit by a train. I felt weak, feverish, and the toilet became my best friend.
We spent our anniversary in two separate beds, me watching HGTV barely able to hold the flicker in between trips to the bathroom, and The Big Dawg eating pizza (gag). It was awful. The next day I tried to get the energy to go biking, but could barely walk down to the car without feeling faint. We drove back yesterday.

Little did I know, my mother who was babysitting Little Monkey, was also making friends with the toilet bowl back home. She and I both got food poisoning, let's just say no more quesadillas for us for a very. very. long time.

I didn't want to miss out on the Blogger Men Tell All, so real quick here's The Big Dawg's answers!

What is one thing you really want for Christmas this year?
To have a good anniversary...

Does your family generally do Christmas Eve or Christmas Day celebrations?
Christmas Day

What is your favorite part about the holidays?
Candy *points to Ghirardelli chocolates*
Me: THAT's your favorite part?!
TBD: Yes and it was fun to watch the baby open presents.

What’s your New Year’s Resolution?
I hate New Year's resolutions.  (somebody is grumpy this morning...)

Where will you be at the start of 2015?
In my bed. (what? I thought we were playing games, meh we will probably be in the bed. Ha!!)

As you can see, he is still pretty bummed about our anniversary plans following apart. Sorry this post isn't more jolly for the Blogger Men Tell All!
Becoming Adorrable

Ok, another blog business item is the 2014 Merry and Bright Gift Swap hosted by Bailey Jean at Brave Love!

I was paired with Katie from Twin Stripe Blog. Katie has a beautiful blog and I'm so jealous she attended a blog conference! I'm dying to go to one, but am feeling super shy about ever actually doing it. Katie was diagnosed with narcolepsy in 2014, read her story here. I love blogger swaps, but the best part about them is finding new bloggers to chat with and Katie has been so fun to get to know! I hope y'all will go say hey!

She sent me some cute gifts that I'm excited to share with y'all!
Isn't that wrapping paper adorable?!
Those chocolates are in this mama's secret hiding place! I'm excited to try the Black Pepper Mint Sugar in my next cup of hot cocoa!

Whew. This holiday season has flown by, I  hope y'all have a Happy New Year!

2015
is destined to be an
AMAZING YEAR!!
