Summer Reading Happened So Fast

Check out some of these great reads!! I've been rather picky lately about what I invest my time in and so far these have been worth it.

My Name Used to be Muhhamad (review here), The Women of Duck Commander, and Dinner With the Smileys all brought tears to my eyes. My testimony of Jesus Christ was strengthened reading these stories of resilience and family.

Whistling Past the Graveyard and Where'd You Go Bernadette? both funny and heartwarming reads. I loved both the main characters, their search for their mothers resulted in some crazy experiences. Really enjoyed both of these, highly recommend!

The Fault in Our Stars, y'all know about it, everybody is talking about this book. I don't know what happened to this heartless lady, but I didn't shed a tear in this book. Am I a terrible person?! Typically, I get so emotional over cancer stories, but this book's popularity ruined the story for me. I already knew what was going to happen and wish I had read it over a year ago when it first came onto our shelves. Still a great read, just not satisfying for me.

I wrote a book review for That Night. I enjoy Chevy Stevens and this one did not disappoint! Smoke is the second and final book in the Burned series. Hopkins is always tellin' it like it is for teens struggling through some horrific experiences.

The Disenchantments is my current read, so far so good. Coming of age story, the book cover is deceiving since the protagonist is a boy...

What have you been reading this summer?
I love book suggestions!

I've read a few of the same books as you this summer. I love the cover for Whistling Past the Graveyard! I'll have to add that to my list. Thanks for linking up to Quote Me Thursday!
