A Father's Rite of Passage

Over the Thanksgiving break, R completed the sacred duty of putting together the baby boy's crib. My cousin, Shannon, gave us her black crib which has survived two baby boys already.
My dad and R sprayed on the primer together (dad is not pictured, he was in his pjs!) and over the next weeks my dad applied the navy blue paint to our baby boy's future bed.

Last week, R put it together with no directions, just nails and pieces, he is a puzzle minded kind of guy! A trip to Target was made for crib sheets, mattress pad, and a mattress. More nursery pics to come soon!

I got a little teary when we got our crib up. I'd go in and stare at it. That's where our baby was going to sleep! It was incredible.
