Historical Charleston Part 2

Saturday morning we all decided to go down to the beach. We were hoping to find a spot with sunshine, dig our toes in the sand, and people watch.
By the time we got out of the car, a storm started to brew, as we were walking up, people were walking back to their cars. The beach was still packed and I snapped some photos for memories.
Mom wanted a picture of R next to this delightfully painted trashcan!
R, mom and I had one of those "in joke" moments. I won't share the joke here, let's just say, R made me laugh so hard I spit water all over the truck.
Don't worry dad, we cleaned it all up, thank goodness it was only water!
Good times... good times.
Some of our time was spent just sitting around the campsite.
Relaxing.
More people watching.
This picture of Sunny and R is my favorite from the trip.
She is smiling and I'll never get another shot like this, so precious!
As if I don't have enough of her, here is another.
Can you tell I love my dog?!
We traveled back over the beautiful bridge to walk the dogs around Battery Park.
The bridge really was amazing. I hated having to drive so quickly over it. If we go to Charleston again, I want to be one of those people who walk over the bridge, that looked really neat!
The guys walked the dogs while mom and I watched the brides. There were four at the park, lots of bridesmaids and groomsmen.
A wedding in Charleston, how rich and classy!

Funny story.
Sunny gets really excited. Especially on vacation. I guess it is in Cocker Spaniel in her, she just has a lot of happiness trapped inside.
Well, we took her for walks, gave her plenty of water, but she wouldn't go...to...the... bathroom.
Oh, but did she ever once she got to Battery Park. What a lovely place to decide to go, right there with the brides, grooms, families, and passersby.
Had all day to do it and it just had to be on the lawns of Battery Park. (Yes we picked it up).
We had another nice walk and headed back to our campsite for a yummy seafood dinner!
We went to a recommended local place up the road from our KOA and had our fill of Southern fried yummyness.
My body is still recovering.
This is the pond at our KOA.
I love the little boat!

I love my family. We may be small with lots of dogs, but we have a good time on vacation together!
Quick getaways like this one are what create the best memories!

I love those quick get-aways. Sometimes you just need to be out of town for a day or two. And you picked a lovely place to go.
