General Conference Food

Sweet Sticky Spicy Chicken

2T brown sugar
2T honey
3T soy sauce
2tsp ginger
2tsp chopped garlic
1tsp hot sauce
1-2T sesame seeds

4 skinless boneless chicken breasts - cut into equal bite sized pieces that have been lightly salt and peppered
1-2T oil for frying

mix together 1/2cup flour sprinkled with half a teaspoon each of paprika, salt and pepper in a ziploc bag, place chicken pieces in ziploc, shake and coat chicken with flour mixture

mix together all other 6 ingredients in small bowl set aside

heat oil in frying pan to med high, fry chicken pieces until just barely brown and juices are clear, about 4-5 minutes, pour sauce into pan stirring thoroughly to coat all chicken pieces, sprinkle sesame seeds over all and let simmer until sauce thickens
serve over rice or with favorite vegetables

WARNING: This chicken packs a favorable sweet and spicy punch!!!
The original recipe came from but we used the advice from reviewers and reduced the soy sauce, added the breading, and sesame seeds, what is posted is our own adaptation of the recipe.

I like using angel food cake because it is so light and fluffy and it absorbs all the of the strawberry sauce. Makes for a lighter, more delicious treat!

For the topping I used Sandra Lee's Strawberry Sauce recipe, but instead of adding cranberry juice I used apple.

Once you've released the angel food cake from sitting on top of your bottle (once again follow the directions on the box, haha!) add the delicious sauce and whipped cream! Help yourself to seconds, once everybody's had their own slice!
