Ft. Worth, Texas

On our next adventure in Texas, we drove to Ft. Worth for a tour of the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This was the second place we visited and I wasn't allowed to take any pictures, so I have no evidence!

We stopped by on a day when they were showing live demonstrations on how they created the first engraving plate and the many, many steps they took just to print one piece! We also watched a video on how the process works now, saw the newest $100 bill (which looked a little silly to us, like Monopoly money) and then we toured the facility where they create billions of dollars! The men who were working down below our glass bubble (high security obviously) were very kind and would demonstrate or hold up items as they worked. What high quality, honest people they must be to have the credentials to work there!!

We drove into Ft. Worth for lunch at Reata. Yum, yum, yum, yum, YUMO! This place was so delicious with rich Texan Ranch flavors. We had creamy butter with jalapenos and cheddar cheese finely diced, bread with pecans, and cornbread with jalapenos. So delicious!
I ordered the blackened fish tacos, they were divine. I could not finish my plate, so this was my lunch for the next day!
It's tough to get couple pictures, so we took my SIL's offer to get a shot of us outside this government building downtown.
Afterwards we walked around Ft. Worth which was a really fun, happening city! I enjoyed it more than Dallas to be perfectly honest. We window shopped through a ranch style store with $895 boots for sale and cowboy shirts for $600. I guess when they are ranching it up they want style and a shirt that will last through any weather, mud, or animal residues.
That evening, my SIL and I had some much needed girl time and got pedicures. After this winter, my feet needed this luxury!
Come back tomorrow for the Wonderful Wednesday post! Inspiration is just around the corner.

Oh my gosh. SO jealous. Ft. Worth is super close to my home town... and I would have to agree with you, it's like a million times better than Dallas!!! I love going to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, anytime outta-staters come to visit us we take them, pretty neat. :) Hope you're enjoying Ft. Worth (even if it is without me :P haha)!!!
