The Stars At Night Are Big and Bright

We celebrated the 4th of July with our friends at the Oconee County Veteran's Park. It is one of my favorite holidays! Fireworks, southern food, and honoring our country in a celebration of Freedom!

After the 4th, I relaxed in our comfy apartment till Friday, when we headed West on I20 to Texas! We were on our way to visit Connie and Mike and have an even bigger celebration: a baby blessing!

We drove
Till we crossed the Mississippi River

And crossed it again...

Totaling 24 hours of driving in 4 days...

R studied...

We stopped in Louisiana for homecooked Cajun food

And a pistolette (stuffed seafood in a fried shell)

R studied some more...

Finally in Texas we saw this sweet baby girl, Daphne!

And played with this awesome Akita, Jinx

Watched movies (cried our eyes out to Hachiko), celebrated Davin's birthday, ate yummy Mex Tex food, and visited family.

We witnessed a beautiful baby blessing. In our church, babies are blessed by giving them their name, presenting them to the Lord and congregation, and blessing them with happiness and faith in their future. This is not performed for their salvation, because all children go to heaven!
Brother in law, Mike, nephew Davin, and niece Daphne

We had a great trip to Texas! We are always sad to leave, this was our second short trip there, we hope to one day spend more time with R's family and visit the sites in Dallas! Can't wait to go back for more baby cuddles and good times!
